Gawler
River flood Following rains in excess of 100mm across the greater Adelaide area, the Gawler River waters from converging North Para and South Para rivers, broke its bank, just north of Winckel Bridge These photos are a few taken over 5-6 hours The River broke its bank and made its way around its dried up ancient course. The area in question has depths upto approx 10 metres deep. Waters rose to 1 metre from "gully" capacity. |
 Water Rushing In from Gawler River Bend  Water level at 2pm, looking south down gully, fences already under water  Same trees in foreground as above... this photo taken about 4pm  now that is not something you see every day on a land locked gully!  Gum tree half way up side of gully under threat "Bushes" in water are Pepper Trees  Gum tree now deluged by water.... water almost at peak  sunset on calm waters  |
